| Just thought I'd bring this discussion to a close as I have finally managed to identify the location myself. It's no wonder I couldn't find it in all the years of looking as it wasn't in Hammersmith after all, but just down the road in Putney. The car park in the picture was in fact the site of the recently demolished Putney Hippodrome in Felsham Street. The tower block in the background is Phelps House.
