"Gin Bob Brie" (Hello) "Yak Shim Mash" (How are you) Once upon a time the Polish Posk building was a Baptist Church..certainly in the late 1950's /1960's. Yes an unusual style for a church. I haven't been to Posk in recent years but I certainly did quite regularly 10,15 and 20 years ago. There was a magic atmosphere there, a tingling experience of meeting people from the other side of the Iron Curtain. The sound of the ladies speaking their attractive (to me) language...the elderly men with their medals.. the restaurant on the first floor with a Hungarian Gypsie violinist playing romantic and dashing sounds. Wow I occasionally dined and danced there, visit art exhibitions..and surveyed the scene with friends. Entering the building was a mini holiday and the presence of Posk there attracted small Polish cafes in the area too..Adam & Axxxx? being a special delight. I'm getting carried away.. I'll be off. Chin queer! (Thank you)! |
