Once and for all lets settle whether Greyhound Road is in Fulham or Hammersmith.

The boundary between Fulham and Hammersmith is Chancellors Road. There was formerly a stream here, now piped in as a sewer, that separated the two areas from at least AD704/ probably earlier, when the Bishop of London acquired a place called Fulanham that included Hammersmith.

The postcodes, SW and W were introduced in the 1850's , by the Post Office, and the 6 in 1917, to make it easier for the women postal workers who filled the places of postman serving in WWI. The postal districts basically followed existing parish boundaries but adjusted at the edges to suit deliveries. The northern part of Fulham was placed in W6 in the 1890's for ease of delivery, much to the annoyance of Fulham people but has remained ever since. Hence Greyhound Road, as is Charing Cross Hospital, is without doubt in Fulham and always has been in Fulham.

I hope this resolves the dispute once and for all. All the arguments so far put forward are factitious.
