| Hi Steve, We must have been neighbours as we lived in the next turning at 29 Lurgan Avenue, our back yards must have backed on to each other.. Love the bit about that lad's mum putting a shilling in the gas meter..my old mum always carried some coppers in her purse just in case the Nazis ever invaded..she said that she would have gassed us all sooner than us falling in to their hands. Remember one night the Germans dropping one a bit close to us..the blast throw five of us kids clean across the room into the opposite wall..probably why I never take much notice of the bombs that have been going off these last 30 odd years around this country.
