Yes the row of cottages were on your left. There was a shop at the beginning of the row and the pavement had a bollard set in its centre after the shop - so I suppose milky had to either walk the walk or shout. I don't know when bottles were used in London but I do know that when I was evacuated to Lutterworth in 39 the milky was using a dipper and filling your jug. But, something has just come to me - I remember talk before the war of the first milky's to replace the iron tyres with rubber but when did they use bottles? Do you remember the Walls ice cream pedal carts? If I remember right when you turned into the row the road in front of the shop was double width so that the Cottages' pavement was offset to the left. I remember that bit of road being in shadow whilst the row was in brilliant sunshine. I suppose the shadow was caste by the Lord Napier. Funny how bits pop up unasked. But, is it correct?
